Major roads will be closed in the Sydney CBD for the Anzac Day Dawn Service in Martin Place from 4.20am and for the March on Elizabeth St from 9am. 

Motorists should avoid travelling through the CBD while roads are closed or expect delays and allow extra travel time. While roads are closed travel east/west across the CBD is maintained via Bridge St or via Goulburn St.

Key road closures:

• From 2am to 4pm: Pitt St, George St and Castlereagh St between Hunter St and King St. A westbound section of Hunter St between Elizabeth St and Hamilton St. Hosking Pl from Castlereagh St.
• From 2am to 6pm: Angel Pl and Ash St.
• From 6am to 4pm: Major roads between Bridge St in Circular Quay and Goulburn St in the CBD South, including sections of Castlereagh St, Elizabeth St, King St, Market St, Pitt St, Margaret St, Hunter St, O’Connell St, Gresham St, Bent St, Park St, Bathurst St, Bligh St, Phillip St, Loftus St and Liverpool St.

There will be no managed vehicle access or access to/from driveways within the road closure footprint for the safety of participants and spectators. Pedestrians can cross the March route at the designated crossing point on Elizabeth St at Park St and Hunter St, and at underground crossings at Bathurst St, Museum Station and Martin Place Station.

Cycleway closures will be in place on Pitt St from 2am to 4pm, and on sections of Castlereagh St, King St, Liverpool St, Park St, Pitt St and Phillip St from 6am to 4pm.

Extensive special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect on various major roads in the Sydney CBD from 1am around Martin Place and from 5.30am on other major roads. All major road closures and clearways are due to be lifted by 4pm.

Anzac Day commemorations will be held at Mascot with a march along King St from 2.15pm, finishing at Mascot Memorial Park by 2.45pm.

For the safety of the marchers, NSW Police will implement rolling road closures along Botany Rd northbound lanes from King St to Coward St from 2pm until 3pm. Sections of King St, MacIntosh St, Forster St and Coward St will also close, and there will be no access to Botany Rd northbound during this time. 

Special event clearway parking restrictions will also be in place effect from 12.30pm to 4pm on Sunday 27 April at the following locations:

• Botany Rd between King St and Coward St (western side/northbound)

Thousands of participants will take part in the 5km and 10km Mother's Day Classic fun run and walk events starting from 7am in The Domain. Participants will travel along sections of Macquarie St, College St then Art Gallery Rd and Mrs Macquarie's Rd to finish back in The Domain by approximately 12pm.

Mother's Day is traditionally one of the busiest days on the roads. Wherever you are travelling, expect it to take longer than usual and factor in extra travel time.

Major road closures will be in place on Sunday 4 May between 4am and 1pm in the Sydney CBD, The Rocks, Barangaroo and Pyrmont for the Runaway Sydney Half Marathon. The 10km course will start at 6.20am while Half Marathon runners will be released in waves from 6.40am. Both courses start on the Cahill Expressway at Macquarie St near Circular Quay and will end at The Domain Sydney by 12.30pm.   

Motorists are encouraged to avoid non-essential travel in the CBD and Pyrmont areas during the event as delays are expected. If you must drive, diversions will be in place so allow extra trave time and follow detour signs. 

Key closures: 

• Sydney CBD – 4am to 12.30pm: Sections of Bridge St, Conservatorium Rd, Hunter St, Kent St and Macquarie St will be closed. The Cahill Expressway will be closed from The Domain Tunnel in both directions on the Circular Quay Overpass, and the Kent St on-ramp to the Sydney Harbour Bridge will also be closed. Motorists travelling towards the Eastern Distributor/Eastern Suburbs should use the Sydney Harbour Tunnel while the Cahill Expressway Overpass is closed. Traffic leaving the city can access the Sydney Harbour Bridge via Clarence St or Harbour St. Traffic can cross Macquarie St at Shakespeare Pl and Bent St before 5.30am and after 12pm. After 12pm, there is no access to or from Macquarie St; access to the Eastern Distributor will be available via William St. 
• Pyrmont, Barangaroo & King St Wharf – 5am to 10.30am: the Western Distributor will be closed from Pyrmont to the CBD, including the Fig St and Pyrmont St on-ramps and the King St off-ramp. Sections of Sussex St, Erskine St, Hickson Rd, Kent St, King St and other local streets will be closed near King St Wharf and Barangaroo. Sections of Union St, Murray St, Pyrmont Bridge Rd, Pyrmont St, Darling Dr and surrounding local roads will be closed in Pyrmont. NOTE: there is no direct access from the Anzac Bridge to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Citybound traffic on the Anzac Bridge will be detoured via the Bathurst St off-ramp. Citybound traffic from Pyrmont will be diverted via Harris St and local roads. 
• Dawes Point, Millers Point, The Rocks & Barangaroo – 5am to 12pm: Sections of Hickson Rd, Towns Pl, Dalgety Rd, Pottinger St, Windmill St, Watson Rd and surrounding streets will be closed. Access to The Rocks is maintained via York St, Lang St and Harrington St. 
• Pyrmont – 5am to 11am: Sections of Pirrama Rd, Bowman St, Darling Island Rd, Harris St, Bank St, Refinery Dr and surrounding local roads will be closed. 
• Pyrmont – 5am to 11.30am: Pirrama Rd between Jones Bay Rd and Murray St; and Murray St between Union St and Pirrama Rd will be closed. 
• Sydney CBD and The Domain Sydney – from 5am: Sections of College St, Prince Albert Rd, St Marys Rd, St James Rd, Hospital Rd, Bent St, Shakespeare Pl, Sir John Young Cres, Art Gallery Rd and Mrs Macquaries Rd will be closed. Some closures will lift from 9.30am, with all roads reopen by 1pm.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on James St, Perry St, Balmain Rd, Mary St and Glover St as attendees travel to and from the match during Friday evening peak.

A section of Mary Street may close before the game and will reopen when crowds have cleared the area. Traffic will be detoured via Chapel Street while the closure is in place.   

Motorists requiring access to other venues in the park should use either Maliyawul St or Glover St.

Attendees driving to the game should allow extra travel time for parking and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads.

Roads around Olympic Park will be very busy as attendees travel to and from the event.

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time on roads approaching Olympic Park including the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Lane Cove Rd, Parramatta Rd, Centenary Dr and Silverwater Rd.

Attendees who have to drive should pre-book parking ahead of time to secure a space. If you have pre-booked your parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.

Road closures and changes to parklands are in place within the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct until Tuesday 29 April for the Easter Show event pack down including sections of Olympic Blvd, Australia Ave, Showground Rd and Grand Pde. The Sydney Family Show will be held at The Entertainment Quarter from Saturday 12 to Sunday 27 April from 10am to 4pm daily, and until 5pm each day of the Easter long weekend.

• Traffic is expected to be heavier than usual on Anzac Pde, Eastern Distributor, Moore Park Rd, Cleveland St and Lang Rd approaching Moore Park as families travel to and from the Show each day. Motorists should allow extra travel time in the area and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads.
• The precinct will be particularly busy while events are held at neighbouring Allianz Stadium, Sydney Cricket Ground and Hordern Pavilion so allow plenty of extra travel time as parking will be in demand on these days.
• Driver Ave will be partially closed outside the stadiums at various times on game days on 12, 19, 20 and 25 April.
• If you are attending the Show on Sunday 20 April, expect significant delays and high demand for parking in the precinct as a combined crowd of 60,000 is expected to attend AFL and A-League games at neighbouring stadiums. As well on Anzac Day, 40,000 footy fans will be attending the annual match at Allianz Stadium.

With 40,000 fans expected, traffic will be heavy on roads approaching Moore Park. Keep in mind that roads are closed and detours are in place in the Sydney CBD until 4pm for the annual Anzac Day Dawn Service and March.

Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time on the Eastern Distributor, Moore Park Rd, Cleveland St, Anzac Pde and Lang Rd. Attendees are urged to catch public transport.

• Driver Ave will be partially closed outside the stadium before the match from 12.30pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area after the game.
• No through-traffic will be available on Driver Ave however access to EP3 grass car park, EP2 car park and drop off areas will be maintained from Moore Park Rd and Lang Rd.
• A pick-up and drop-off zone will be located on the northern side of Moore Park Rd at Oatley Rd, opposite the stadium.
• Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 1pm to 8pm on sections of Albion St, Lang Rd, and Moore Park Rd, and from 6am to 8pm on sections of Cleveland St and Fitzroy St.
